PIR Production Challenges, and Price Increases
Unfortunately, further raw material shortages as of the beginning of May 2017 are affecting lead times and availability of PIR insulation from all manufactures – Celotex, Ecotherm, Kingspan and Recticel.
Manufacturers are providing limited stock on an allocation basis to our suppliers and depots. We will endeavour to source the required stock, however, we may need to mix and match equivalent products from multiple manufactures, suppliers and depots. This may affect the rates; we will of course discuss possible solutions with you before proceeding and will do our best to keep additional costs down.
Specialised insulation boards will be affected more than general application boards, so please allow additional time to process and deliver these orders.
Please allow extended lead times on PIR and Phenolic foam insulation. These supply issues are likely to continue until March 2018.

Product Functions
Rainscreen Cladding product suitable for use in warm steel frame constructions for ventilated facade applications, Celotex RS5000 can be used in buildings above 18 metres in height – a first for PIR insulation.
Relevant for both new build and refurbishment projects, rainscreen cladding is a popular choice for large multi-storey buildings; however structural performance, wind loading, fire performance and thermal efficiency are all considerations for the building designer.
Constructions designed with high levels of insulation benefit from reduced running costs and lower levels of carbon emissions
Product Description
RS5000 is lightweight, durable and available in a huge range of materials, ventilated façade systems allow buildings to achieve their aesthetic goals whilst utilising practical construction methods
Specifically designed for Rainscreen cladding applications, Celotex RS5000 meets the performance criteria in BR 135 and therefore is suitable for buildings above 18m
With low emissivity textured aluminium foil facings, Celotex RS5000 comprises rigid polyisocyanurate foam core (PIR) using a blowing agent that has low global warming potential (GWP) and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP).
Suitable for use in warm steel frame constructions or fixed directly to masonry for over cladding applications, Celotex has a rainscreen cladding solution that is successfully tested to BS 8414-2:2005, meets the requirements in BR 135.
Product Benefits
Celotex RS5000 is a premium performance rainscreen cladding PIR insulation board that:
Comprises a polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam insulation core featuring Celotex IQ providing super low emissivity textured aluminium foil facings on both sides and Class O fire performance throughout the product in accordance with BS 476.
Has been tested to BS 8414-2:2005, meets the requirements in BR 135 and the first PIR insulation suitable for rainscreen cladding applications above 18 metres in height
Features Class O fire performance
Has a super low lambda value of 0.021 W/mK
Is designed to enhance the thermal performance of insulated façade systems
Can be used as sheathing to warm steel frame constructions or fixed directly to masonry for over-cladding applications
RS5000 also features an A+ rating when compared to the BRE Green Guide delivering over 20% better environmental impact than typical PIR, and is CFC/HCFC free with low GWP and zero ODP.
RS5000 is manufactured in accordance with quality management systems ISO 9001 and environmental management system ISO 14001.
All products must be installed in accordance with instructions issued by Celotex.
